We caught up with my friend, Holly Delgado once again from Prince & Park, an Atlanta based luxury handbag boutique. Holly is one of my friends from our Luxe Lit Book Club, a fashion book club that some of our friends put together to read and discuss fashion related books. View Post
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and/or holiday season! I can’t believe Christmas is already over and we’re gearing up for a new year! Boy, does time fly, huh?
Well, Santa was good to me this year! How about you? View Post
I’ve always loved wearing perfume! So, when Scentbird contacted me and asked me if I’d like to pick out a fragrance* to try from their monthly subscription service, I jumped at the chance! Scent bird is a monthly fragrance subscription service. For $14.95, you get a 0.27 oz. perfume (about the size of a rollerball) from your choice of more than 450 designer and niche fragrances. All fragrances from Scentbird are 100% authentic.
Scentbird is a great way to try out different fragrances before committing to a full bottle. Kind of like dating a fragrance before marrying it! The first month’s fragrance comes with a reusable white metal case and a vial of your chosen fragrance for that month. Each month after that, you’ll get the fragrance only that you can just pop into the metal case. The case travels well and protects your fragrance spray. You can also purchase additional colored cases.
I chose My Burberry by Burberry. It came with the chic white case, which I found easy to use. I love this fragrance! I gravitate towards florals and this fragrance definitely delivered. My Burberry was inspired by the trench coat and a London garden after the rain. It’s very classic and sophisticated. Perfect for everyday!
Scentbird also sent me their Perfume of the Month for November, Norell Elixir. This came with one of their colored cases in Fierce Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All month, Scentbird is donating 10% of each pink case purchase to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Novell Elixir is a woodsy, spicy fragrance. It too is sophisticated. This fragrance is perfect for a date night! Novell Elixir is different than most of the perfumes I’ve been wearing lately, but I love it! That’s the beauty of Scentbird- you just might discover a fragrance you love that you might not have otherwise tried!
This service is great for when you want to find a new signature scent. You can try different perfumes each month before deciding on “the one.” Or maybe you just like to play the field and try a new scent every month! It’s all up to you. Trying new scents is less expensive with a Scentbird subscription because you’re getting the size of a rollerball for about half the price of a rollerball. If you do decide that you’d like to purchase a full bottle of the scent you chose for the month, you’ll get $15 off.
I’m really impressed with Scentbird! I love their selection of high end fragrances and the cases are easy to use! It’s a fun subscription service that you can treat yourself to while trying new fragrances each month!
Let me know in the comments section what your favorite fragrance is!

I recently sat down with Holly Delgado, owner of Prince & Park Luxury Handbag Boutique (www.princeandpark.com) based in Atlanta. Named after two streets in New York City, Prince & Park combines downtown style and uptown luxury to bring their clients beautiful, authentic handbags they will cherish for years to come. View Post
I think we all carry similar things in our work bags. But it’s still fun when someone gives us a peak into what’s in theirs! I love “What’s In my Bag” blog posts and YouTube videos- whether it’s someone’s handbag, work bag or beach bag! View Post
I was in dire need of new shorts this year. For the past several years, I must admit I’ve been wearing unflattering shorts. For some reason, while I love fashion and dress much better when not wearing shorts, I was convinced that anything shorter than a very baggy Bermuda short would look terrible on me. It wasn’t always this way. Years ago, I wore cute shorts. But in recent years, I was wearing, as Oprah might call them, “shlumpadinka” shorts. Not good for a fashion girl! While I still wore stylish tops, I spent my summers either feeling dumpy (if wearing my enormous, too-long shorts) or sweltering wearing pants in the heat (fashionable pants, but it was way too hot for them)!
The funny thing is, those shorts I was hiding in weren’t flattering on me at all. Bermudas have their place and can be really cute. But mine weren’t.
Fast forward to today. I found my perfect shorts that transformed my entire Summer wardrobe- Maison Jules Maddie Shorts. They have a mid-rise, straight fit and hit just at the right place, mid-thigh. They have a 4.5-inch inseam and pass the fingertip test, on me anyway (I’m 5’3″). In recent years, I would have been afraid these would be too short, but they are so flattering.
I got them in white, khaki, navy and black. They go with all of my t-shirts and my other cute tops!
The Maison Jules Maddie Shorts have transformed my Summer wardrobe! I’m having fun again putting together summer outfits. Now I can feel good about what I’m wearing and still be comfortable in the heat!
BTW- I bought these at Macy’s if you’re thinking of checking them out for yourself!
This year, I found a lot of great beach accessories at Christmas Tree Shops! They had the cutest things at really great prices- definitely worth checking out if you have a Christmas Tree Shops near you! I found my beach bag, towel, sarong, flip-flops, tumbler, sand coasters, big floppy hat, cooling cloth, paddle ball set, and all kinds of fun things there. (This post isn’t sponsored- I just found a lot of cute things there this year!)
Of course, I also picked up some sunscreen at CVS and Walmart. And I always bring my sunnies and Kindle as well!
