Wearing seasonal nail polish collections is fun! I love wearing the latest, greatest shades, shades similar to those I featured in my OPI Fiji Collection post! But I also enjoy wearing classic shades that are always available. OPI was kind enough to send me a few of their classic neutral shades, so I decided to incorporate them with other neutrals in my own collection to show you my top 9 favorites! (Watch my video featuring these colors!) This post was also inspired by a blog post on the OPI website that featured some of their neutral shades for brides. In this post, I’ll show you and swatch my top 9 OPI neutral shades so that you can see what they look like on my nails!
Neutrals are perfect for all sorts of occasions. They look gorgeous and elegant on brides. Neutrals are also an ideal palette for work. You won’t get the side-eye at the office if you’re wearing a neutral nail polish (one would hope!). Neutrals and nudes look polished and professional. They’re also great for when you want a change from reds, darks or bright colors. Neutral shades are always appropriate, go with everything, and are timeless and elegant.
Please note: I received some these products complimentary from OPI for testing and review purposes (they are marked with an asterisk (*). All opinions in this post are strictly my own. Be There In A Prosecco *
Be There In A Prosecco is an OPI Classic shade. It’s an opaque cream shade that falls into the nude neutral category. I love this color! It’s one of my favorite types of nail colors to wear. If I do my own manicure, I need to apply three coats (as I did in the swatch above), but a professional manicurist can probably get this opaque in two coats. I’ve seen celebrities photographed wearing colors similar to this shade (maybe it was this exact color!). I can see why – it’s so pretty!
Bubble Bath is one of OPI’s classic and most popular shades. This is a sheer blush shade that works well with French manicures. I usually just like to wear it alone as a sheer pink. In the swatch above, I applied two coats of this shade.
Pretty Pink Perseveres
Pretty Pink Perseveres is a beautiful opaque baby pink shade with a cream finish. I have this shade in the Infinite Shine formulation. See my OPI Infinite Shine Wear Test here. While this shade is a pink, I included it in my neutral collection because it’s still a soft color that goes with everything. In the swatch above, I applied three coats of this color.
You Can Count On It
You Can Count On It is a pinkish tan shade with a cream finish. This is another of my Infinite Shine shades. It falls into the nudes, neutrals and pinks categories. In the above swatch, I applied two coats of this color. This is a wonderful nude shade that’s subtle, yet polished.
Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey
Cosmo-Not Tonight Honey has been one of my favorite nail polish shades for years. This is a light gold shade with a pearl finish. I love this color because while it’s still a neutral shade, the pearl finish makes it special. This shade is easy to apply and wear. In the swatch above, I applied two coats.
Tickle My France-y
Tickle My France-y is an OPI classic shade. It’s a mauve-y nude shade with a cream finish and falls into the nudes, neutrals and pinks categories. I like to wear this shade when I know I’ll be wearing mauve, rose or pink makeup colors. (You don’t have to match your makeup to your nails, but I still like to do that sometimes.) I applied two coats of this shade in the swatch above.
Barefoot In Barcelona *
Barefoot In Barcelona is an Infinite Shine Iconic Shade. This is a medium warm nude shade with a cream finish. I like to wear this shade when I know I’ll be wearing warmer makeup colors. While it’s not imperative, I try to at least keep my lip color and nail color in the same family, either warm or cool. Sometimes that’s easier said than done, and it’s not as strict of a rule as it once was. In the swatch above, I applied two coats.
Nomad’s Dream is an OPI classic shade. It’s a starlit warm mauve shade with a pearl finish. I also see it as a rose gold shade. It falls into the browns, nudes and neutrals categories. Nomad’s Dream has been another favorite of mine for several years. It’s a wonderful neutral while the pearl finish adds something extra. This shade is easy to apply and wear. In the above swatch, I applied two coats.
Berlin There Done That *
Berlin There Done That is another of OPI’s Infinite Shine Iconic Shades. This is a medium taupe shade with a cream finish. It falls into the browns, nudes and neutrals categories. In the swatch above, I applied two coats of this color.
There are so many other shades in the nudes and neutrals categories that I want to try, but these are my top 9 for now! Let me know in the comments section what your favorite neutral nail polish shade is!
